NexPil Loop
Rx Medication Reminder

In the United States 1.2million people incorrectly take their prescription medication. Of those people 100,000+ needlessly die from dosing errors.  Loop wants to do their part to save lives by reducing confusion for the elderly and sight reduced population, who on average take 5+ medications daily.  Loop uses pattern, color, sound and feel to assist and direct proper dosing.  The Loop pager uses NFC to communicate with a user’s medicine bottles and resets timers and alerts based on medication interaction.

Meaningful Work

PCS worked with start-up NexPil to visualize Loop in preparation for raising capital.   Our team designed and developed functional demonstrators that illustrate the visual reminder system and re-imagine the pill bottle to assists those with dexterity and hand strength issues.   For our team, the difficulties the aging population face became real and urgent by generating empathy based concepts for the elderly people in our own lives.  We considered sight, hearing, dexterity and mental acuity as we refined and built the demonstrator system.
