Client Challenge
The Mantarray platform depends on highly precise position sensor technology with active biostimulation signals. While it must exist in the laboratory environment, the technology needed to be intuitive to use by the researchers and laboratory technicians who depend on the data. The Curi Bio team realized that the human interaction challenge was piled on top of the core technology integration and needed collaborative development to reach their goal.
Why Curi Bio Chose Product Creation Studio
Co-founder Elliot Fisher and his team chose to work with Product Creation Studio because of our pedigree for great user-centered designs that express the customer brand along with the functionality.
Product Creation Studio’s Role
The Product Creation Studio team worked with Curi Bio to conduct user testing of design concepts with interaction mock-ups, enabling us to learn about user preferences. In addition, product mood boards helped Curi Bio express where they wanted the product image to move and then concept options were illustrated to evaluate possible architectures and form factors.
The resulting design direction captures both the user needs but also the visual brand language that Curi Bio wants to establish in the market.
Project Results
Product simplicity in modern instruments demands close integration between the functional technology and the user interaction points. Product Creation Studio and Curi Bio continue to refine this marriage in the evolving Mantarray design.
In late 2021, the Curi Bio team raised $10 million in Series A funding to advance its platforms for drug discovery, based on human stem cells.
Their “Mantarray” platform is currently for sale on the Curi Bio website.
