Healthcare Innovation: APIS Health Angels Final Demo Day March 24

APIS Health Angels Flyer for March 24, Final Demo Day Event | Product Creation Studio

Join Product Creation Studio CTO, Scott Thielman, for this event geared toward angel investors and healthcare entrepreneurs!

This Final Demo Event is part of the APIS Health Angel Conference. The Angel Conference process creates an opportunity for early-stage startups to connect with, and learn from, early-stage investors who are exploring Angel Investing. It is a learn-by-doing program, with lots of opportunities for everyone who participates.

Better Investors, Better Health Startups

Assessing health-focused startups takes different expertise compared to traditional tech companies. In a recent Geekwire article, APIS found John Sechrest noted that “health-oriented startups had to work extra hard to explain what they were doing.” He founded Apis to provide a forum for such companies.

By working together as a group, APIS Health Angels learn about habits and techniques that make Angel Investors more effective. With a research-based process, new Angels are supported in exploring Company Selection, Due Diligence, and Portfolio Construction.

According to the Geekwire piece, to qualify, investors must have either $1 million in assets or $200,000 in annual income. Each contributes $5,000. As they vet companies, new investors receive advice from more seasoned hands, some with sector-specific backgrounds.

For the startups, every participating group gets a review of their company and the opportunity for feedback. As Angel Investors ask more difficult questions, the company materials and narrative become more robust.

Final Demo Day March 24

This VIRTUAL Demo /Pitch Night is a celebration of Apis Health Angels’ inaugural cohort.

More than 50 companies started with the first Apis cohort late last year and will be down to six finalists on the final pitch day on March 24. Apis will announce the winner of the competition, which will take home the combined funds from more than 25 angel investors. The audience is invited to also vote for an Audience Award.

Since its founding, the conference has educated more than 430 new investors and invested more than $4.5 million in more than 35 startups. “Apis 2” cohort is already taking applications from digital health, medical device, biotech, and other health-related startups.

Join us at the event next week as Scott Thielman presents a Product Creation Studio consulting award to the finalists! It will be an excellent time to see curated healthcare startups, and, network with angel investors.
